Possible bug?

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2004

I think I may have found a bug with this nightly build of WordPress. I tried to backdate an entry and it didn’t work. I am not sure why but I can post normal entries just fine.

I’m home!

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2004

Aside from several idiots trying to cause wrecks (more on that later) I made it to Arkansas just fine.

Christmas leave and reflections

Monday, December 20th, 2004

I’ve checked out at the battalion and in just a bit I will begin my trek home! Blogging over the holiday season may be lite, but it might not be. I will still be able to get to my email (see the contact section for the addy) if any of you really need to get […]

My dad the comedian

Sunday, December 19th, 2004

If you haven’t seen any of the posts about how awesome my dad is, you will in just a moment. Tonight’s laugh fest is inspired by the latest Cox & Forkum cartoon. Dad had this to say.

Dad : He did have a gun… the coward didn’t even try to defend himself.
Marcus : I’m surprised he […]

TIME Person of the Year 2004: George W. Bush

For sticking to his guns (literally and figuratively), for reshaping the rules of politics to fit his ten-gallon-hat leadership style and for persuading a majority of voters that he deserved to be in the White House for another four years, George W. Bush is TIME’s 2004 Person […]

Democrats do it again

Sunday, December 19th, 2004

Via Power Line:

Cal Thomas, in the Washington Times, tells us that the Democrats have announced plans to hold “hearings” during which they will examine the policies and conduct of the Bush administration. I thought we just finished such hearings in the form of an election campaign.

North Dakota Senator Byron Dorgan promises that the hearings will […]

Testing the bookmarklet

Sunday, December 19th, 2004

I’m testing out the bookmarklet to see if it works. I have two PHP errors at the top of the page but it is still worth a shot.

Update: It worked! Yay!

Upgrading

Sunday, December 19th, 2004

This is going to be really ugly for a bit. I’m upgrading to version 1.3-alpha-5 and my old index doesn’t like the new site. Just stick with me and we’ll see what we can do.

Update: Well, that was interesting. Everything should look exactly as it did before. The only changes you should notice are little […]

Several Blasts Heard in Jakarta, Two Other Towns-TV.

JAKARTA (Reuters) - Several loud blasts were heard in the Indonesian capital Jakarta and two other towns nearby early on Sunday, local Metro TV reported.

It reported residents heard the blasts around 7.30 a.m. (0030 GMT). Police were not immediately available to comment. Western governments have warned of […]

Prison within prison?

Saturday, December 18th, 2004

I really can’t decide what to make of this story from the Washington Post. It seems just too strange to believe, yet has that sense of it really could be true. I am unsure of how much some of you know about Gitmo and what exactly goes on there, but if you know something, have […]

Democrats always looking to lay blame

Saturday, December 18th, 2004

This time, they are looking at Rumsfeld as the target. Democrats in Washington went for Rumsfeld’s throat today.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrats on Saturday said U.S. soldiers in Iraq lacked adequate body armor and plated vehicles because of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s flawed leadership.

I’m failing to see how Rumsfeld’s leadership is to blame for this. Furthermore, […]

Why U.S. Cellular sucks

Saturday, December 18th, 2004

Spoons is getting the shaft from U.S. Cellular. This is definately a reason not to have any kind of business with U.S. Cellular.

U.S. Cellular is so worried about making a buck that they completely forgot about the power of negitive press. So far, Spoons wrote on this, then Wizbang, now me, and I’m sure […]

Live Blogging: NMCI cut over

Friday, December 17th, 2004

I haven’t been able to find a worthy event of living blogging (election doesn’t count. Anna was in town). I am thinking that the cut over might just be worthy. Why? Well, I have extra computers. I think. Hell, I don’t know. All I know is that it looks like I have more boxes sitting […]

What a nut job

Thursday, December 16th, 2004

This idiot is claiming September 11 didn’t actually happen the way we all know it did.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Jimmy Walter has spent more than $3 million promoting a conspiracy theory the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States were “an inside job” and he is offering more cash to anyone who proves him […]

Will someone please tell me why

Thursday, December 16th, 2004

NMCI couldn’t get it right the first time? For those of you that aren’t sure what I am talking about, NMCI is taking over the network putting me out of a job. I’m not bitter at all. But back to the point.

We were supposed to be completely cut over two weeks ago, but because NMCI […]

Wingman (or woman)

Tuesday, December 14th, 2004

Last summer, I got an email from a co-worker that outlined the “guy code.” In this guy code was the explanation of the wingman. Your winger approaches a member of the opposite sex you are interested in striking up a conversation until you make the smooth entrance to talk to the girl you’ve had […]

Show Trial #35

Tuesday, December 14th, 2004

The Commissar has posted this weeks Show Trial. Go read the Trial. Then read all the offenders.

Update: I have at least one confused reader. If you don’t all know about our friend the Commissar, and I’m not too surprised. I was just as confused when I first saw his site. The communist style of writing […]

Contact with Hamas? Yeah, right.

Tuesday, December 14th, 2004

The news from LGF (via Foggy Bottom and AFP) tonight is saying the exact same.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The United States denied it had held contacts with Hamas as a leader of the radical Palestinian group has claimed.

“We don’t conduct business with designated terrorist organisations. Hamas is a designated terrorist organisation,” US State Department spokesman Richard […]
