Next up at the plate

Yet another journalist is going to bat for Dan Rather and the TANG Memogate documents. I am not sure exactly what Corey Pein of the Columbia Journalism Review was thinking when he sent the article to Power Line, but he made a huge mistake.

Corey Pein of the Columbia Journalism Review sent us an email yesterday, with a link to his article in that magazine on the fake 60 Minutes documents. “You may be interested in this,” he wrote. We were interested, all right, but we’re sorry to report that the article is astonishingly bad.

The long post that follows the quote is a good read about Memogate.

    Professional courtesy, most likely.

I’m not tracking with you, pennywit. From the tone of the email they quoted, I’m thinking he was digging for a beaming review from Wizbang.

I also think that if it was in the case of professional courtesy, the email should have read something more along the lines of just letting them know they were mentioned and given the link. To me, telling someone they should find something interesting implies one, they will be pleased by the writing or two, they need to tear it to shreads.
